Dakhla's geostrategic transition is accelerating. The Dakhla Atlantic Port—a multi-billion dollar deep-water harbor—has officially surpassed 53% construction completion, with project managers targeting 70% progress before the end of the year, on track for final delivery in late 2027.
"يبدو أن ميناء الداخلة الأطلسي العملاق، سيطل علينا فعلا بنهاية سنة 2027، بحيث تسارعت وتيرة إنجازه لمستويات متقدمة، وبلغت نسبة أشغاله، إلى أزيد من 53%، على أن تصل نسبة الأشغال إلى 70% قبل متم السنة الحالية 🇲🇦👏"
Speeding Up Towards Late 2027 Commissioning
Construction activity has escalated to unprecedented levels. Huge gantry cranes are assembling concrete blocks, breakwaters are stretching into the ocean, and connecting roads are being paved. By the end of this year, the port will be 70% complete, locking in the late 2027 commissioning timeline.
A Maritime Gateway for the Sahel and the World
This mega-project is not just a major development within the Moroccan Sahara; it represents a continental maritime gateway. The port is designed to offer a direct Atlantic outlet for landlocked countries in the Sahel region (including Mali, Niger, Chad, and Burkina Faso), connecting West African trade routes directly to Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Investment Implications
As Dakhla secures its position as a global trade hub, raw land values in development zones like PK40 and the Marina district are expected to continue their upward trajectory. Investors entering the market now are capturing the final window of pre-commissioning value.
