A high-level executive meeting in Dakhla has officially put an end to speculative market concerns regarding real estate subdivisions and public infrastructure projects.
Official Confirmation from Regional Leadership
Following recent public discussions concerning the upcoming modernization of Dakhla Airport, questions had emerged among property owners and real estate investors regarding potential impacts on surrounding residential and commercial land subdivisions (Lotissements Foncier / التجزئات العقارية).
To provide immediate clarity and absolute legal security, Khattat Yanja, President of the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab Regional Council, held a key consultation with Wali Ali Khalil, Governor of the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab Region.
100% Protection for Land Allocations and Melkiya Rights
During the meeting, President Khattat Yanja emphasized the paramount importance of safeguarding private property rights and ensuring that legally acquired land plots remain entirely protected under Moroccan property law.
In response, Governor Wali Ali Khalil officially reassured the Regional Council and all property owners with the following binding clarifications:
- Zero Encroachment: There is no airport expansion project that will include or affect existing land subdivisions in Dakhla. All current urban subdivisions remain completely insulated from infrastructure works.
- Isolated Infrastructure Parcels: All upcoming state infrastructure works, logistics facilities, and aviation upgrades will take place exclusively on separate government-designated land parcels located completely outside the boundaries of existing subdivisions.
- Full Legal Security: The legal rights of parcel owners and ongoing real estate development projects remain 100% protected with zero administrative or physical boundary changes.
Key Takeaways for Real Estate Investors
This official executive ruling delivers crucial market confidence for individual land plot owners and commercial developers in Dakhla:
- Regulatory Stability: Traditional land rights (including traditional Melkiya property deeds and municipal lot allocations) enjoy total institutional protection from state authorities.
- Capital Protection: Investors can move forward with residential and commercial building projects without risk of expropriation or boundary alteration.
- High Capital Growth Potential: Clear masterplan boundaries and infrastructure investments nearby continue to drive strong capital appreciation across Dakhla's key urban zones.
